So… I really need to work on this blogging piece of the Harrison House adventure. I forget that even when I am so excited for all the progress, that others do not see what I see on a daily basis, but still are curious to know how it’s going.
The forward momentum on this house is amazing. The team we have working together on this project is truly the best around. Adam, the framer, and his team are astounding. Every morning, showing up and doing their job the way it should be done. No complaints, no excuses, just true professionals. The framing part of the project is when the vision starts to come together for others to see. When I go into a home to design a space for clients, regardless of where your walls are or what a room may be filled with to start, I see the final product. I see small details such as the throw blanket we will drape across the back of your reading chair, next to your fireplace, even when that fireplace doesn’t yet exist. I see the settings on your table for your Holiday dinner even though you do not yet have anything in the room. I get giddy when the vision I have starts to come to fruition and others can see it too.
Each day the framers came, and the new walls went up I would be there multiple times. I would be dropping off new lumber, bringing coffee or just making sure everything was going according to plan. When all the old windows came out and the roof came off the existing family room I embraced the “open living” concept, bringing the outdoors in, at least for a few days anyway while we waited for the new master bedroom to be framed out.
So to keep you up to date, I am including pictures for all to see. Also attaching a couple sketches I had done to have the original house drawn and to show the siding pattern.
Stay tuned… Next post I intend to chat up the amazing kitchen space being created…
